The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
We wish to appoint a member of staff to work across the school to support young people with additional health care needs as part of our Teaching Health Assistant Team. As a member of our team you will support not only their health care needs but also the physical and emotional wellbeing of all of our young people, alongside supporting their academic, social and personal growth whilst also supporting their personal care. The successful candidate will be supported in this role by our Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Health across the school and the Children & Young Peoples’ Nurse. Full training will be provided.
Post Requirements
- To work under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for medical and health within school
- Provide accurate reports to monitor and record medicine and procedure
- Ensure high standards of professionalism within the role
- Maintain accurate records and resources
- Continue to develop own professional skills and knowledge
- Follow all school procedures and policies
- Maintain calm and professional manner at all times even when under pressure
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Continue to support the education and access to education for all of our young people
Criteria
- Ability to carry out the role of a Health Aide effectively within all areas (ASD, MSI/PMLD, Main Corridor, Post 16)
- Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant/or higher, within a Special School or similar setting preferred but not essential
- Good standard of English and Maths (GCSE or Level 2 equivalent or ability to work towards)
- Excellent communication and confidentiality skills
- Ability to use ICT effectively
- Ability to demonstrate how professional conduct, skills and knowledge have been used effectively within current role
- Ability and willingness to undertake training
This is a fixed term appointment from 1st September 2026 until 31st August 2027, when the post will be reviewed subject to pupil numbers.
