Role Overview
As an Asbestos Site Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of asbestos removal projects, overseeing multiple site operations, ensuring all works are completed safely, on time, and in full compliance with regulatory and company standards, whilst maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management - Oversee and coordinate asbestos removal projects from start to completion, including medium to large scale projects with varying complexity.
- Site Leadership - Manage and motivate the asbestos site team, ensuring high on the job performance and adherence to procedures.
- Compliance - Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Client Liaison - Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance - Monitor workmanship and site standards, addressing any issues promptly in accordance with our internal quality processes.
- Documentation and Reporting - Ensure accurate completion of site records and compliance documentation.
- Resource Management - Plan and manage labour, equipment, and materials in coordination with Stores and Operations Management.
- Cost and Budget Control - Ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets by effectively managing costs and identifying, reporting, and controlling variations.
- Programme Management - Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timescales and budgets.
- Training and Development - Support and develop site teams through coaching and on-the-job training.
- Problem Resolution - Identify and resolve operational issues efficiently and professionally.

Required
- Experience - Proven experience as an Asbestos Site Manager or in a senior supervisory/management role on medium to large-scale projects.
- Qualifications - Valid Asbestos Supervisor, SMSTS (or equivalent) and relevant health and safety certifications (Including up-to-date refresher training).
- Leadership Skills - Strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage multiple teams, including Supervisors and Operatives.
- Organisational Skills - Excellent planning and time management abilities.
- IT Skills - Proficient in the use of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, email and digital job management systems.
- Problem-Solving - Confident decision-maker with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Communication Skills - Professional and effective communicator with staff, operational teams, clients, and key stakeholders.
- Driving - Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Flexibility - Willingness to travel, stay away from home, and adapt to varying project requirements.
Desirable
- Proven experience managing multiple sites simultaneously.
- IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.
- Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor certification.
- Recognised leadership or people management NVQ (or similar).
