We're working with a growing, technology-led organisation delivering a live software platform used in complex, real-world operational environments. As the platform continues to evolve, they're looking to bring in a hands-on Business Analyst / Project Delivery specialist to help structure, prioritise and drive work across the development lifecycle. This is a practical, delivery-focused role - ideal for someone who enjoys sitting between business and engineering, bringing clarity to requirements while ensuring work progresses smoothly from idea through to release.
The Role
You'll play a key role in translating business needs into structured, actionable development work, while also helping coordinate delivery across a small, collaborative software team. This is not a pure BA role, and not a traditional PM role - it's a hybrid where you'll:
- Shape and refine requirements
- Manage work through delivery tools (e.g. Azure DevOps / Jira)
- Support sprint activity and team coordination
- Ensure work is clearly defined, prioritised and delivered effectively
You'll be working closely with developers, technical leadership and business stakeholders, acting as the glue that keeps delivery aligned and moving forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the backlog, ensuring work is clear, prioritised and ready for development
- Translate business requests into well-structured user stories / tickets with clear outcomes and acceptance criteria
- Track work through the full delivery lifecycle (requirements build test release)
- Facilitate smooth day-to-day delivery across the team (stand-ups, planning support, follow-ups)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguity and maintain momentum
- Improve the structure and quality of tickets, documentation and processes over time
- Support communication between technical and non-technical teams
What They're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in a Business Analyst, Project Manager, or hybrid delivery role within a software environment
- Strong hands-on experience with tools like Azure DevOps or similar
- Proven ability to turn loose requirements into structured, actionable development tasks
- Solid understanding of the software delivery lifecycle
- Experience working closely with developers and technical teams
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident communicator who can challenge, clarify and drive outcomes
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to Agile delivery (Scrum / Kanban)
- Understanding of APIs, data or cloud-based systems
- Experience in engineering, industrial, or operationally-focused environments
Why This Role?
- Genuine hybrid of analysis + delivery ownership
- Opportunity to work on a live, evolving platform with real-world impact
- Close collaboration with senior technical leadership
- A chance to shape how delivery is structured as the team grows
