Join our SHEQ team as a SHE Advisor at our Teesside Biodiesel Plant, where you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting safe, compliant and efficient operations within a high-hazard industrial environment. Working closely with site teams, you’ll be a visible presence on plant, helping to embed a strong safety culture while driving continuous improvement across our biofuels operations. This role would suit an experienced SHE Advisor or someone ready to step into a broader, site-based position.
Key Responsibilities- Site SHE Implementation
- Support the implementation of Group SHE policies, standards and procedures at site level
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe systems of work are in place, understood and followed
- Provide day-to-day SHE advice and guidance to site management, supervisors and operators
- Promote a strong SHE culture through visible presence and engagement
- Compliance & Assurance
- Conduct regular inspections, audits and behavioural observations to monitor compliance with legal and company requirements
- Support compliance with environmental permits and other regulatory requirements
- Assist with contractor management and verification of safe working practices
- Liaise with regulatory bodies as required, supporting inspections and audits
- Incident Management & Investigation
- Support and lead investigations into SHE incidents and near misses
- Identify root causes and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and tracked
- Share learning across the site through toolbox talks, briefings and communications
- Risk Management & Process Safety
- Support development, review and implementation of risk assessments and method statements
- Participate in MOC processes and ensure SHE risks are properly assessed and controlled
- Assist in maintaining process safety controls and verifying critical risk barriers
- Group Culture Programme Support
- Training & Engagement
- Deliver SHE inductions and support ongoing training programmes across site
- Identify SHE training needs and support competence development of employees and contractors
- Promote awareness of SHE risks and responsibilities across the workforce
- Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Support the use and maintenance of SHE management systems, including reporting, document control and action tracking
- Monitor SHE performance data and support identification of trends and improvement opportunities
- Contribute to site and Group SHE initiatives and continuous improvement programmes
- General Responsibilities
- Act as a role model for SHE behaviours and promote Greenergy values
- Build strong working relationships across site teams and functions
- Participate in SHE meetings, committees and improvement projects
- Support wider Group SHE activities where required
- Essential
- Experience in a SHE role within an industrial, manufacturing, energy or chemical environment
- Recognised Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate minimum; Diploma or equivalent desirable)
- Experience in incident investigation and risk assessment
- Good understanding of UK SHE legislation and regulatory frameworks

- Knowledge of environmental management and permitting
- Experience with ISO management systems (ISO 14001 / 45001)
- Experience working with contractors and CDM regulations
