We’re looking for a confident and organised Customer Care Representative to join our Manchester-based team (part of the wider Commercial team). This is a busy, fast-paced role where you’ll be the first point of contact for customers, handling calls, emails and live operational queries, placing fuel orders and building delivery KPI data. The environment can be complex and reactive, so we’re looking for someone who can stay calm under pressure, handle challenging conversations, multi-task effectively and build strong relationships with customers and colleagues across the business. You’ll need to be curious, flexible and comfortable asking questions to develop your understanding and help deliver the best possible customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritise activity across four key workstreams: telephone calls, the Fuel Orders inbox, the Customer Care inbox and reactive operational tasks.
  • Ensure real time delivery issues are communicated effectively between the Flexigrid operation and the customer.
  • Process customer fuel orders received by telephone or email.
  • Assist customers with same or next day deliveries to prevent stock outages.
  • Handle all customer queries in a timely and effective manner.
  • Report, investigate and close out high level events, ensuring all relevant information is captured and recorded appropriately.
  • Compiling KPI data for internal and external reporting.
  • Assist with the system set up of new customers when new business has been secured by the account management teams.
  • Identify and act on any opportunity to enhance the customer experience and our service offering.
  • To always work harmoniously and respectfully with colleagues in Customer Care and other departments.
  • Role model the Greenergy values.
  • Carry out any other reasonable task(s) as requested.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience and confidence in call handling, including challenging conversations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Experience and/or understanding of the fuel industry (desirable).
  • Attention to detail is critical in this role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed, coupled with the ability to develop relationships on all levels.
  • Has a strong team ethic but also has an ability to work independently when needed.
  • Is flexible and has the ability to work under pressure.
  • Displays high organisational skills and the ability to multi-skill and manage workloads effectively.
  • Shows curiosity and is not afraid to ask questions to develop understanding.
  • Is comfortable to ask questions and challenge the norm.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation: Enjoy a competitive salary, enhanced by a discretionary bonus scheme that rewards both business and individual performance.
  • Private medical insurance: Prioritise your health with comprehensive private medical insurance, including access to online GP services from AXA for you and your family.

  • Volunteering and charity: We encourage you to give back to the community through volunteering days and charitable initiatives.
  • Enhanced holiday allowance: Enjoy 25 days of annual leave, in addition to bank holidays.
  • Global travel insurance: Travel with peace of mind, courtesy of worldwide multi-trip travel insurance coverage for you and your family.
