We’re looking for a commercially minded Account Manager to join our London-based sales team. Managing inland ex-rack and delivered customer accounts, you’ll build strong customer relationships, support business development, respond to tenders and quotations, and work closely with colleagues across customer care, logistics, finance and trading to deliver a reliable service. This role would suit someone with experience in a similar customer-facing commercial role who is confident dealing with customers, commercially aware and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain customer relationships through regular meetings, site visits, and clear communication.
- Act as the main contact for customer support, handling requests and aiding account management.
- Respond to tenders, evaluate costs, and create quotations for negotiations.
- Business Development - Identify new business through cold calls and develop relationships with prospects.
- Work with logistics and back-office teams to resolve any issues and maintain service standards.
- Partner with customer care to ensure an outstanding customer experience.
- Help prepare and share commercial reports to keep stakeholders updated.
- Support accurate data entry in internal systems for trades, customer setup, and forecasting.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within fuel or other commodity-based industries.
- Strong communication abilities to interact effectively with customers and internal teams across departments.
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of accuracy and organisation.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; basic knowledge of databases is advantageous but not essential.
- Exceptional drive, confidence, and proactiveness in a customer-centric role.
- Fast learner with a willingness to master new systems and processes; in-house training will be provided.
