Greenergy International own and operate a number of facilities within the UK and Abroad. To provide effective management of and compliance of these facilities a central engineering team has been developed to provide professional services pertaining to legislative compliance, engineering good practice and the conception, design, construction and operation of development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, or verification of, EC&I engineering designs for projects as required
  • Assist in the preparation or review of EC&I scope of works
  • Review EC&I submissions from third party companies ensuring technical compliance
  • Engineering related documentation creation and management
  • External resource documentation management
  • Technical contact for all EC&I reviews
  • Assist in construction management as required
  • Prepare, implement and manage standards in line with current and upcoming legislation with regards to all EC&I aspects
  • Provide technical/engineering assistance to terminal teams as required
  • Assist in business development activities as required
  • System commissioning assistance
  • Assistance on all engineering related issues and investigations within competence.
  • Acting as part of the technical authority ensuring asset compliance with relevant legislative standards as required
  • Site visits, inspection, investigations, as required throughout the UK with some abroad travel opportunities.

At all times within this role you are responsible for the delivery and management of the professional services pertaining to the activities outlined above. Other areas of responsibility are outlined, but not limited to the following:

  • Assist in the continued development and management of corporate engineering systems and standards
  • Maintain a sound knowledge of legislative standards pertaining to your discipline
  • Maintain a sound knowledge of Greenergy departments and their systems, such as accounts and legal etc.
  • Work and act in a professional manner in keeping with the Greenergy Respect Agenda and all other company standards and procedures
  • Identifying and communicating any training requirements to ensure continued level of expertise in your field
  • Identify and communicate possible development opportunities both personally and for the team to ensure continued or improved levels of service to Greenergy International and the terminal

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

This is a great opportunity to join an expanding team based in Grimsby, covering the UK, Ireland and Canada. The requirements of the role make necessity for the following:

  • Minimum of HND in an Electrical or Instrumentation discipline or 5 years engineering bias
  • Basic Windows software proficiency, for example Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational capabilities with excellent attention to detail
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivation to learn quickly in a fast moving and dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build relationships and provide clear guidance to leaders at all levels.
  • Required to be available for travel to sites around the UK and internationally as appropriate.

Not necessary but beneficial attributes would include:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Control
  • Experience in a fuel storage environment or similar
  • Understanding of COMAH requirements
  • Understanding of relevant legislative compliance requirements
  • Ability to operate design software packages such as AutoCad
  • Completion of recognised apprenticeship pathway
  • Experience in reviewing engineering data
  • Experience in working with technical authorities
