We are looking for a Volunteer Fundraiser to enable us to engage and mobilise 5000 people in our community to take action to make Henley safer, cleaner and greener in the face of the climate and nature emergency.
Your work is absolutely vital in enabling us to implement our strategy (most immediately our 2025 - 2028 Action Plan). Without this funding, we would not be able to implement our plan. By helping us access funding, you will enable us to achieve our headline goal of actively engaging 5000 people from Henley and surrounding villages to take action for a safer, cleaner and greener Henley.
This role is vital to enable us to make meaningful change. We have a trustee board which includes experienced professionals working with Greener Henley because they know that change will only come about at national policy level if it is robustly driven bottom up from grassroots, community level. We have an ambitious plan and we want to be able to replicate/scale our activities beyond Henley, but we can only do this with funding. We are already leading the way in community engagement both in our region and nationally.
What are we looking for?
- A strong writer and communicator
- Confident researching and identifying funding opportunities
- Familiar with grant applications and/or charity fundraising
- Organised and able to work independently
- Passionate about community, nature, and a safer, cleaner and greener future
- Fundraising experience ideal but not necessary
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a Volunteer Fundraiser to help secure funding that will power local climate and nature action in Henley. Specifically, we would love your support in identifying suitable grants from local trusts and foundations, and preparing compelling applications that align with our mission and upcoming programmes.
The key deliverable will be the submission of successful grant applications that support our core work – including our schools programme, nature recovery projects, and community engagement events and partnerships. There is flexibility in how you support us; if you have ideas for other creative fundraising avenues, we would love to hear them.
You will be working closely with our Executive Director and one of our Trustees, as well as our small, friendly team at Greener Henley. We are collaborative and supportive – and always open to adapting the role around your strengths, availability and interests.
This is a great opportunity to play a hands-on role in helping a grassroots charity make meaningful, scalable/replicable, visible change in response to the climate and nature emergencies.
