Ashley Cross Green , The Cow is a vibrant Pub & Social venue with plenty of personality and even more potential.

This is a two-floor operation , with a welcoming main pub on the ground floor and additional bookable space upstairs, complete with its own bar – perfect for parties, meetings and private events.

Outside, we have a ground-floor area plus a fantastic

30-cover roof terrace , giving our guests even more reason to visit throughout the year.

Sport is a huge part of what we do, particularly rugby , and we’re looking for a General Manager who can build on this success by growing our football, darts, F1 and wider live entertainment offer.

We also have a unique pizza offer , giving us something different from other pubs in the local area.

About the role

As General Manager, you’ll have the freedom to make The Cow your own, building on what already works while identifying new opportunities to grow the business.

You’ll lead from the front, developing a great team, delivering fantastic guest experiences and creating a pub that people are proud to call their local.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being hands-on, commercially focused and always looking for the next opportunity.

What you'll do

  • Work with your Business Development Manager and management team to grow sales and profitability.
  • Lead, motivate and develop your team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Build on The Cow’s strong sporting reputation and grow opportunities across football, darts, F1 and live events.
  • Maximise the potential of the upstairs function space and 30-cover roof terrace.
  • Drive awareness and sales of our unique pizza offer.
  • Recruit and develop a strong, engaged team.
  • Champion brand standards and ensure the safety of customers and colleagues.
  • Take ownership of your P&L, with a strong focus on commercial performance.
  • Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers coming back.
  • What you'll bring
  • Previous experience managing a busy pub, hospitality venue, retail business or similar fast-paced operation.
  • A strong commercial mindset and an eye for opportunities to grow sales.
  • Great leadership skills and the ability to inspire and develop a team.
  • High standards and attention to detail.
  • A passion for creating memorable customer experiences.
  • Confidence, energy and the ability to make things happen.
  • Previous General Manager experience is desirable, but we’re also open to ambitious Assistant Managers ready to take their next step.
  • A Personal Licence, or the ability to obtain one.
