Responsibilities

As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to drive standards, support the team, and ensure smooth day‑to‑day kitchen operations. You'll:

  • Lead by example during busy services, maintaining high standards under pressure.
  • Support the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operation.
  • Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation are always on point.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Support stock control, ordering, and GP management.
  • Coach, motivate, and develop the wider kitchen team.
  • Help create an environment where the team can thrive and grow.

Qualifications and Experience

We're searching for a strong, hands‑on Sous Chef who brings energy, initiative, and a positive attitude to the kitchen. You'll ideally have:

  • 1–2 years' experience in a Sous Chef role or a strong Junior Sous Chef ready for the next step.
  • Experience working in a high‑volume, fresh food environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to think quickly under pressure.
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • A passion for developing others and building a positive team culture.
  • Good understanding of stock management, GPs, food safety, and compliance.
