Responsible for the leadership and management of the Operations Finance Function:
- Business partner to the Operations Director and the wider Operations Function
- Drive financial performance of the Brewing & Brands Breweries and its Distribution network
- Key player in negotiations with suppliers
- Support the Senior Management team in key decision making
- Champion the cultural values of the Greene King Group
- Drive periodic operations budget/forecasting processes
- Create standard KPIs to track performance against budget/forecast, capturing variances to plan, evaluating consequences for the full year out turn and identifying strategies to mitigate adverse variances
- Support the Operations Director in the identification and delivery of new profit improvement initiatives
- Attend supplier meetings and presentations
Your role as Finance Lead - Ops Finance:
- Production of a quality operations reporting pack in line with the business’ reporting rhythm, providing considered insight into operating costs, competitor activity and industry developments.
- Thorough understanding of the key pressures on input costs and operating overheads. Using this insight to recommend and drive opportunities to mitigate the effect of these on the business’ performance
- Drive range/sku optimisation and ownership of product costing methodology
- Establish and maintain robust financial governance within the operations function and adherence to wider group policies, including tight management of the value of inventory and creditors
- Work with operations team to maximise asset utilisation
- Analyse Capex requirements ensuring that all requests have been robustly evaluated and meet the requirements for payback, return on capital etc.
- Carry out periodic post investment reviews and report on results
- Represent Operations Finance at the S&OP forum ensuring that the production forecast is accurately represented and captured

- Advanced Excel skills as a given
- Strong communication skills and resilience in the face of challenge from various senior stakeholders
