As Regional Sales Manager, you will lead a team of 8 direct reports (7 Sales Development Managers and 1 New Business Manager), driving sustainable volume growth, profitability and long‑term customer partnerships across the territory. You will take full ownership of the regional P&L, build and execute a clear commercial plan aligned to company strategy, and ensure Greene King is positioned as the leading supplier partner in the Free Trade market. This is a leadership role that blends strategic thinking, commercial accountability and inspirational coaching - where your ability to unlock potential in others will define your success.

Responsibilities:
- Create a high‑performance, winning culture rooted in Greene Kings core values.
- Lead through coaching and structured 1-2-1 development, spending significant time in trade to turn strong performers into exceptional ones.
- Engage and inspire your team through clear communication, feedback and inclusive engagement initiatives, leveraging channels such as the Employee Engagement Survey.
- Build both collective and individual capability across the team.
- Own and deliver the regional P&L, ensuring compliance with budget processes and financial adherence.
- Identify and implement creative solutions to drive continuous improvement in Own Brand Volume and overall profit targets.
- Create and execute an optimal regional call strategy that underpins the national sales strategy.
- Develop a clear commercial plan aligned to company strategy, ensuring directives are understood and executed locally.
- Ensure account retention plans and new business targets are achieved, balancing best‑in‑class account management with strategic territory expansion.
Growth, Partnerships & Brand Leadership:
- Lead your SDMs to unlock innovative ways to secure and retain sustainably profitable accounts.
- Empower your New Business Manager to secure high‑value, strategically important new business opportunities.
- Maximise loans and Value for Venues opportunities to position Greene King as the partner of choice in the territory.
- Act as a lead partner with cross‑functional teams to improve cost to serve, enhance supply chain effectiveness, and deliver compelling brand strategies within the Free Trade market.
- Implement the brand plan, ensuring all regional opportunities are identified and executed.
- Ensure the team remains informed and trained to react to emerging trends in a fast‑moving market.
Commercial Excellence & Strategic Delivery:
- Own and deliver the regional P&L, ensuring compliance with budget processes and financial adherence.
- Identify and implement creative solutions to drive continuous improvement in Own Brand Volume and overall profit targets.

What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience within an FMCG sales environment (account management and new business desirable).
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing budgets or P&L responsibility.
- Exceptional coaching, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Excellent communication built on trust, values and reliability.
- High levels of resilience, accountability and strategic thinking.
- Competency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Relevant qualification (or working towards) or equivalent experience.
