Job Description

You will be responsible and be responsible for the delivery of high-quality outputs and manage and interact with various stakeholders across the business.

Working collaboratively with various teams across the business to support the R2R team and drive change to provide more accurate and timely month end closes.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Handle ad-hoc projects and reports as required.
  • Help to develop and change month end accounting processes, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and completeness of financial information.
  • Challenge and redefine balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all balances are supported, highlighting any risks or opportunities and actioning all differences in the control accounts promptly.
  • Responsible for the delivery of high-quality reports, information and commentary to provide insights to enable the business to make effective strategic and operational decisions.
  • Support the internal and external audit processes
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of source data, and the structure and use of financial information from core systems which feeds into the financial statements.
  • Understand the impact of operational changes to procedures and core business systems to ensure correct accounting treatment and up to date posting books.
  • Provide support to R2R Manager on ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Help deliver change through support on refining and improving existing processes and then reintegrating the process into an existing team with detailed notes and process maps.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of Cognos-based tools desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to influence behaviours and build rapport at all levels of the business.
  • Experience in a medium/large company.
