We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Employment Solicitor (NQ–6 years’ PQE) to join our highly regarded Employment team. This role offers exposure to a broad mix of contentious and non‑contentious employment law work, with early responsibility, direct client contact and the support of an experienced, collaborative team. You will advise both businesses and individuals locally and nationally, delivering practical, high‑quality advice on interesting and often complex matters.
About the Employment Team
Our Employment team is widely recognised as one of the strongest in the region, undertaking high‑calibre work for a diverse client base. The team advises on the full range of employment matters, including tribunal litigation, restrictive covenants, TUPE and senior/executive exits. We pride ourselves on building long‑term client relationships that allow us to provide tailored, commercial advice.
The Role
As an Employment Solicitor in our team, you will work on a varied and stimulating caseload across both contentious and non‑contentious employment law. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your practice within a supportive, well‑respected team, while maintaining a sustainable and balanced approach to work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering high‑quality employment law advice to businesses and individuals
- Managing a varied caseload of contentious and non‑contentious matters
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, service agreements, settlement agreements and workplace policies and procedures
- Advising on and managing Employment Tribunal matters, including drafting ET1s, ET3s and related documentation
- Supporting business development and networking activities
- Keeping up to date with developments in employment law and best practice
What We’re Looking For
- A strong academic background, with a minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent)
- Experience advising on employment law matters
- The ability to manage your own caseload effectively while supporting the wider team
- Strong communication skills and a client‑focused approach
- High‑quality drafting skills and sound judgement on costs, scope and risk
- Desirable (but not essential): Experience supporting corporate transactions, including TUPE; Experience advising on post‑termination restrictions; Experience working with clients across a range of sectors
