What you’ll be doing:
- As a Despatch Materials Handler, you will be working between the Production windows and picking/stores area.
- Assisting in ensuring our products are produced to the highest quality and standards.
- Ensuring each window has the correct packaging and trays as well as enough to keep the lines moving.
- Responsible for ensuring product received from the production area is chilled to the correct temperature before being picked and despatched.
- This is a physical role which requires some heavy lifting.
Responsibilities:
- Setting up of lines ready for production to start - making sure correct packaging/trays/cages are available, correct labels are set up for printing.
- Ensuring tape machines are set up correctly and supplied with tape to keep lines running.
- Using hand pallet trucks to move packaging/materials throughout the area.
- Moving finished products from the production lines to the blast chills.
- Booking stock into the chills ready to be picked (using JBA guns).
- Completion of traceability paperwork for blast chilling (use by dates, temperatures, times).
- Counting of stock (both packaging and finished products) to ensure we always have adequate supply of packaging and to ensure correct amounts of finished stock are produced.
- Moving of finished products (cages, trays on wheels) to pick areas once chilled to be palletised and despatched.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in a similar role/food environment (Desirable, not necessary).
- Able to read and write in English.
- Basic level of Maths required (counting stock, using calculators, JBA guns).
- Ability to work under some pressure to ensure lines are serviced and able to run continuously.
- Great attention to detail (completing traceability paperwork, important to be accurate).
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members.
