What you’ll be doing: As a Sauce Cook, you’ll play an important role within our production team, preparing and cooking sauces and other ingredients to the correct recipes, specifications and quality standards. Working within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, you’ll be responsible for ensuring each batch is prepared accurately, safely and consistently. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and cooking sauces in line with recipes, production plans and customer specifications.
  • Accurately weighing, measuring and adding ingredients to ensure consistency across each batch.
  • Following recipes and cooking instructions carefully, including required cooking times and temperatures.
  • Operating cooking and mixing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Monitoring sauces throughout the cooking process to ensure the correct consistency, temperature and quality is achieved.
  • Completing temperature checks and other required quality and food safety checks.
  • Ensuring all ingredients are correctly identified and used in accordance with allergen controls and site procedures.
  • Completing production paperwork and batch records accurately.
  • Following all Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP and GMP procedures.
  • Working closely with Production Supervisors, Team Leaders and other colleagues to ensure production requirements are achieved.
  • Supporting product changeovers, including cleaning and preparing equipment between batches.
  • Maintaining excellent hygiene and housekeeping standards within the cooking and preparation area.
  • Reporting any quality, equipment or production issues promptly.
  • Working efficiently as part of a team to achieve daily production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

What we’re looking for: Full training will be provided; however, previous experience within food manufacturing, catering, cooking or a production environment would be advantageous. We’re looking for individuals who:

  • Have an interest in food preparation and working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Are confident following recipes, specifications and written instructions accurately.
  • Have good attention to detail, particularly when weighing and measuring ingredients.
  • Understand the importance of food safety, hygiene and allergen controls.
  • Are comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Can work safely with cooking and production equipment.
  • Are able to complete paperwork and production records accurately.
  • Have good communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
  • Are reliable, motivated and willing to learn.
  • Are comfortable with the physical requirements of the role, including handling ingredients and working on their feet throughout the shift.
