Location: Spalding, West Marsh Road, PE11 2BB.

Hours of work: Red Days 05:30am-17:30pm, 3223 shift pattern.

Contract type: Fixed term, 12 months (maternity cover).

Role Accountabilities:

  • Ensure agreed controls for safe working practices in relation to personnel, chemicals, processes or raw materials are adhered to.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping, hygiene standards and quality standards; ensure all data and records are maintained accurately.
  • Manage allocated labour resources to ensure performance standards are achieved; oversee performance and attendance, including first level formal written disciplinary action, performance review, and absence management with return‑to‑work procedures.
  • Deploy team correctly and monitor performance to stay aligned with the plan; manage breaks and shift change‑over processes to support productivity and workflow.
  • Operate within predefined cost efficiencies to maximise resources and reduce wastage.
  • Ensure all staff are trained on hygiene procedures and Health & Safety standards; develop a multi‑skilled team through active coaching, development and recruitment to foster continuous improvement.
  • Promote Bakkavor values and a positive culture while fostering good employee relations through fair, consistent and effective people management.
  • Maintain effective communication between staff and management, and with internal and external customers; highlight training needs to the Hygiene Section Manager.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Good IT skills.
  • Experience working within a hygiene/industrial cleaning team with supervisory experience.
  • Hands‑on approach with strong numerical, verbal and written communication skills.
