What you’ll be doing:

Role Purpose: To ensure that all raw material/packaging specifications are accurately set up and approved in line with Greencore policies and launch deadlines.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Creation, validation and approval of raw material/packaging specifications in accordance with Greencore policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Management of routine scheduled review of specifications and coordination of specification amend requests.
  • Management of the status of specifications within the online system and associated trackers.
  • Documentation and application of procedures to ensure that internal and external compliance is met.
  • Validation of specifications and processes to identify synergies and scope for consolidation through a continuous improvement process.
  • Maintenance and development of online system documentation and guidance for internal and external users.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders (suppliers, site Technical teams, procurement and other functions) and deliver query resolutions.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Holds Level 2 certifications in food hygiene and health and safety.
  • Basic hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) knowledge and micro awareness.
  • Good level of computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of web-based specification systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of approving specifications for raw materials/packaging in food manufacturing environment and/or writing specifications for retailers in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of legal labelling legislation and application.
  • Excellent communication skills.
