This role is based at our Leeds Broadgate office, with hybrid working and flexibility built in. You'll be joining a dynamic Legal team at the heart of a business that's forward-thinking, fast-moving and trusted by millions of UK consumers every day.

What you'll be doing

  • As our Data Protection and Compliance Lead, you'll be the central point of expertise across the business for data protection and compliance. Working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, you'll:
  • Manage and respond to data subject access requests and regulatory queries
  • Support and guide the business on data protection practices, including GDPR compliance
  • Lead investigations into suspected breaches and develop practical remediation plans
  • Design and deliver communications to build awareness of data and compliance responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance policies covering data protection, retention and compliance
  • Oversee data risk in third-party relationships, ensuring contracts include the right protections
  • Collaborate with IT, HR, Legal and operational teams to classify, secure and manage data appropriately
  • Engage with external bodies like the ICO and legal counsel where needed

What we're looking for

  • Strong experience in a data protection focused role-ideally in-house
  • OR a qualified lawyer seeking a broader in-house opportunity
  • Excellent working knowledge of GDPR and related legislation
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to advise and challenge
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills-you'll work with a wide range of teams
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities and build trust across the business
  • A genuine interest in doing the right thing, with an eye for detail and a drive for progress
