What You'll Be Doing
- Working closely with site and functional leaders, you’ll provide expert advice and practical people solutions that support business performance, strengthen leadership capability and create a positive colleague experience.
- This is a varied role where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to influence change, support organisational growth and help shape an engaging workplace culture.
- As a trusted partner to managers and leaders, you will:
- Build strong relationships with site and functional leaders, providing practical advice, guidance and challenge to support business objectives.
- Support and coach managers on a wide range of people matters, helping them confidently manage performance, attendance, conduct and employee wellbeing.
- Lead colleague engagement initiatives, including communication activities, engagement surveys, colleague forums and feedback programmes, turning insights into meaningful actions.
- Manage employee relations cases, ensuring issues are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation and company policies.
- Develop positive relationships with trade unions and colleague representatives, supporting effective consultation and engagement.
- Work with our Centres of Excellence to support talent development, succession planning and learning initiatives, helping to build future capability across the business.
- Support organisational change projects and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring colleagues are engaged and people impacts are managed effectively.
- Promote compliance with employment legislation, data protection requirements, company policies and our human rights commitments.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of people practices that create an inclusive, high-performing workplace.
This role is based on core daytime hours, working Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Flexibility is required, as there will be occasions when you’ll need to work a later shift (up to 10:00pm) to support meetings. There may also be occasional requirements to work weekends or Bank Holiday Mondays to meet business needs.
What We’re Looking For
- We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who combines sound technical knowledge with excellent relationship-building skills.
- You’ll bring:
- MCIPD or FCIPD qualification (or working towards).
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor, People Advisor or HR Business Partner role.
- Ideally, experience within a manufacturing, logistics or distribution environment.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Strong employee relations experience, including supporting complex casework.
- Excellent coaching, influencing and communication skills.
- The ability to build trusted relationships with managers at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A collaborative approach and a genuine passion for creating positive colleague experiences.
