This role can be based at our Manton 110 or Tamworth site.
What you'll be doing
- We're looking for a strategic and results-driven Planning Supervisor - Network to lead the design and optimisation of our logistics network. In this role, you'll oversee planning across multiple depots, ensuring we deliver exceptional service to customers while maximising efficiency, safety, and cost performance.
- Lead and develop a team responsible for network routing plans and resource coordination, while holding full accountability for operational performance across assigned depots, ensuring targets for service, cost, safety, and quality are consistently achieved.
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of transport network plans across multiple depots and customer contracts, optimising routing, trunking flows, and delivery schedules to maximise utilisation, reduce empty miles, and improve overall network balance.
- Oversee capacity across a fleet of 700+ vehicles, ensuring effective deployment of HGV and LCV assets while maintaining high service levels across diverse customers and delivery channels.
- Work closely with customer teams to incorporate delivery windows, site constraints, and service expectations into planning, while identifying and delivering cost-saving initiatives without compromising service.
- Develop and monitor performance through KPIs and dashboards, including vehicle utilisation, route efficiency, and network capacity, while embedding consistent planning standards, governance, and best practice across all depots.
- Champion inclusion and diversity, acting as a role model and ensuring commitments are actively supported and delivered.
- Commit the necessary focus and resources to achieve diversity and inclusion goals.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience within fleet, transport, or a similar operational role.
- Strong understanding of transport and warehousing best practices.
- Qualified Transport Manager CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) holder.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through others across multiple sites.
- Experience managing labour, budgets, and overall operational performance.
- Excellent operational, commercial, and safety awareness.
- Confident decision-maker with the resilience to manage competing priorities.
- Clear capability and aspiration to progress into an Area Depot Manager role.
