As a Head of OPEX - Logistics, you will lead the whole Direct to Store operation across all Greencore sites and you will:

  • Ensure site Operational Excellence teams are appropriately budgeted and resourced to successfully deliver their improvement targets.
  • Align the wider business to support and deliver in-year operational expenditure (Opex) plans.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Operational Excellence community across the Logistics sectors, ensuring teams are safe, engaged, focused, developed and performing to their full potential.
  • Collaborate with site and network colleagues to build a strong pipeline of Operational Excellence initiatives that deliver agreed performance and cost targets.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify and deliver inbound and outbound improvement opportunities across the factory network, including primary logistics and 3PL spend.
  • Monitor site delivery of Operational Excellence initiatives and maturity progress against agreed timelines and financial targets, escalating for support where required.
  • Champion inclusion and diversity by sponsoring initiatives, committing resources, and role-modelling inclusive leadership behaviours.
  • Support and drive delivery of sustainability commitments, goals and targets across your area of responsibility.
  • Proactively identify and manage Operational Excellence risks within your area.

  • Degree educated, ideally in Engineering, Maths, Science, Business, Operations, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, world-class manufacturing environment, including leading change across multi-site teams.
  • Consultancy background.
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to lead teams through both performance and cultural transformation.
  • Experience in training, coaching and facilitation, with the ability to develop others and embed new ways of working.
  • Able to challenge the status quo and encourage teams to think beyond 'what we do' to focus on 'what we should do' to improve performance.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and deliver results through collaboration and influence.
  • Solid knowledge and practical experience of Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions and improvements.
