We produce a range of chilled ready meals for some of the UK's leading retailers, including Co-op, Sainsbury's and Weight Watchers.
What you'll be doing
Working with a team in preparation in raw materials for production, ensuring that all ingredients are prepared and weighed accurately and available in accordance for production to commence, ensuring all internal customer requirements are met in accordance with quality standards, completing and checking paperwork throughout the preparation process, moving heavy goods to and from different areas of the department.
- Prepare recipes in accordance to recipe sheets, ensuring the correct ingredients are used and are to quality standards.
- Collect required raw ingredients needed to complete the required product while remaining vigilant, ensuring each ingredient is to the correct quality standard and meets Health and Safety requirements.
- Operate scales to weigh ingredients accurately.
- Manually decanting ingredients by hand.
- Swabbing equipment when required for vegan/vegetarian meals, ensuring not contamination.
- Communicating with others to prevent downtime and to achieve production times.
- Working within an allergen-controlled area, decanting and preparing nut products.
- Ensuring product/ingredients are correctly labelled and adhere to traceability requirements.
- Operate the cheese machine when required in accordance with procedures in place, making sure there is no foreign body risk and cheese is to quality standard
- Operating meat tumbler when required as well as the heat sealer after weighing beef into the designated bags
- Ensuring good housekeeping within your work area.

What we're looking for
- To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following qualifications and skills:
- Educated to GCSE or equivalent standard with numeracy and literacy skill
- Able to work with basic computer programmes such as Microsoft Office applications
- Holds a Health and Safety level two and a food hygiene level two qualification
- Experience and understanding of internal audit processes
- Has an understanding of allergen awareness and the associated risk
- Has a knowledge of GMP techniques
- Understands non-conformance reporting techniques
- Has and understanding of basic disinfection principles, basic legal labelling practice and basic weight legislation
