What we do:
This particular role is at our site based in Newark, Nottinghamshire and specialises in making delicious chilled desserts such as trifles, cream cakes and choux pastries. The site employs over 1,800 people.
About the role:
We manufacture a wide range of high-quality chilled products for our dedicated customers at our sites. Our production lines are non-stop, so you'll be kept busy creating our products. Working right at the heart of our fast-paced, high-pressured environment, you'll enjoy plenty of variety, be encouraged to find where your strengths lie and supported to achieve your full potential.
Duties may include:
- Correctly recording CCP and traceability for finished products manufactured
- Preparing workstations at start of shift ready for production operation to start efficiently
- Collecting and signing equipment/utensils in and out
- Completing and recording employee job rotation as per company policy
- Starting and operating equipment/machinery checkweighers and metal detectors
- Making reasonable adjustments to line operation to ensure most efficient running
- Ensuring that production line follows and completes production plan
- Act upon decisions made on any exception to product specification and record appropriately
- Undertaking routine food safety, GMP and quality checks and recording in-line with legal and customer requirements
- To act as a workplace buddy for all new employees and assist with the training as required
- Able to work on the coding line and label room as per business needs
- Supporting trials and preparing sample requests on time when requested from other departments
- Communicating with relevant departments and stakeholders (Technical, High Risk and Despatch)
- Support in waste and variance projects
- Support in capturing production data on iPads in Redzone, analysing production data and using it to make efficiency and material usage decisions
- Be flexible to move between bays/areas as per production needs
We're looking for hardworking people, willing to learn and keen to progress. Familiar with the demands of a fast-paced production environment, you'll have a good understanding of food safety best practice.
About you:
- Previous manufacturing experience is essential
- Previous Team Leader/Supervisory experience is desirable
- Plenty of drive, motivation, and ambition
- Previous experience in Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices
- The ability to be hardworking and a good team player
- A keen eye for detail and a good understanding of English and Maths
