Our Finance Apprenticeship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real jobs, alongside supportive training and mentoring. The Higher programme focuses on Management Accounting.
What you’ll be doing:
- Expected Duration: 2 Years
- Apprenticeship Level: AAT Professional Accounting Technician apprenticeship standard. Level 4 or Level 3 depending on interview outcomes

If you have a passion for numbers and want to understand how our finance teams help us to be the world’s leading fresh food manufacturer, alongside gaining an internationally recognised qualification then this is the place for you. You can expect to attain either the Level 4 Professional Accounting Technician or Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard. You will also take part in a soft skills development programme. At the end of your programme, if you have successfully completed your apprenticeship and achieved the performance targets we have set for you, you are guaranteed a permanent role with us. Future career aspirations could be Assistant Financial Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant, Business Tax Assistant, Senior Financial Officer to name a few.
What to expect:
To be successful on the programme you will be self-motivated and have the drive to succeed. You will have strong numerical and communication skills and duties may include:
- Creating, and/or verifying and reviewing, accurate and timely financial information within the organisation
- Supporting Finance Shared Service Centre processing transactions, journals and reconciliations.
- Assisting with weekly P&L reporting
- Maintaining and analysing business forecasts across commercial, operational and overhead cost centres
- Reporting business performance across key metrics such as sales, waste, labour and distribution
- Becoming proficient in the organisation's IT systems applicable to carrying out your role.
A commitment to learning is essential as is the ability to think on your feet and use your initiative.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for detail-oriented people who are great communicators and well organised, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You should enjoy working with numbers, have a logical approach, and feel comfortable working as part of a team. Customer-focus, initiative, and a proactive attitude are also important.
With regards to requirements, you must have full right to work within the U.K., have been a U.K. resident for over the past 3 years & the age requirement is 18+
For qualifications you must hold the following:
- GCSE or equivalent in English and maths + three others (Grade 9 - 4 or A* - C) essential
- GCSE or equivalent Maths with minimum of (Grade B or a level 6) essential
