Our site inNewark, Nottinghamshire, specialises in producing a range of chilled desserts, including trifles, creamcakes, and choux pastries. The site employs over 1,800 people and operates in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
About the role
As Technologist, you will provide technical expertise, to our customers, suppliers andthroughout the business, advising of legal, safety and quality standards and providing specialist technical support to all functions.
What you’ll be doing
- Maintain the Quality Systems for the business unit / site. This will include Quality Systems, Internal Audits, Industry legislation and CustomerRequirements.
- Provide service and support to the technical leadership team. This work includes data entry, filing, information requests, change management procedure and communicating to relevant parties.
- Support the allergen management system by updating and maintaining the allergen risk assessments with the introduction of new ingredients and products.
- Be proactive in analysing trends and spotting potential issues, and escalating these to the technical leadership team.
- Develop the technical systems to meet business, customer, industry standards.
- Ensure the customer interface is managed professionally and in a timely manner
- Contribute to customer audits and visits, leading in areas of expertise.
- Communicate relevant information into the site governance forums and relevant stakeholders.
- To conduct audits as part of the internal QMS. To trend actions and nonconformances and to report into the relevant forums. To work with theTechnical management team and communicate outstanding areas & additionsto standards to ensure compliance with all current relevant standards, COP andlegislation.
Work with the NPD team to ensure all changes associated with launches, delists and promo activities are implemented without out any disruption to support the operation teams and achieves the correct deadlines.
Teamwork: deputise and support others in the technical team in all tasks as required and be flexible to cover different work, also to be involved with projects when requested.
- Health & Safety: operate in a safe working manner and support the site on continuous improvements.

- Ideally knowledge of QM Systems
- HACCP, TACCP, Food Safety Level 2
