The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
We drive our own success with a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern of 06:00 - 18:00/18:00 - 06:00. We offer a competitive salary plus benefits, including a £1,500 signing on bonus (terms and conditions apply). This position is site-based in Nantwich, Cheshire.

About the role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Lead Maintenance Engineer to join the busy and active team at our food manufacturing facility in Nantwich, Cheshire. You will help maintain, install, and improve the performance of processing equipment across the site, which produces chilled speciality hand-crafted flatbreads, baguettes, doughballs, and ciabattas for customers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, and Sainsbury's.
Accountabilities:
- Manage the engineering team to ensure delivery of scheduled work and reactive work to optimise plant availability.
- Manage technical specifications for ingredients, products, processes, and packaging.
- Implement agreed training and development plans to meet engineering and production needs.
- Comply with statutory and Bakkavor Health & Safety requirements, ensuring work is conducted safely.
- Own the dynamic risk assessment process.
- Minimise engineering downtime, accurately log it, and monitor repair time.
- Liaise with planning and operations teams to complete PPM in a timely manner.
- Log all stock in and out of the stores area, highlighting any stock issues to the engineering team manager.
- Maintain standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer.
- Ensure GMP standards of workshops and engineers' toolboxes are maintained at a high level.
About you:
- Strong people management experience.
- A multi-skilled background.
- Experience completing both reactive and planned maintenance activity and small installations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Appropriate professional mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications and training.
- Thorough understanding of common mechanical and electrical systems.
- Professional attitude with plenty of drive and enthusiasm.
- Good IT skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
