What you’ll be doing:

  • This role is responsible for the effective management, maintenance, and compliance of all internal and external site facilities.
  • You’ll lead engineering compliance across statutory regulations, health and safety standards, and contractor management, ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently, and in line with legal and corporate requirements.
  • With a strong focus on continuous improvement and operational reliability, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining site infrastructure, supporting environmental and engineering initiatives, and providing essential support to the wider business.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Develop and manage estate asset strategies aligned to organisational objectives.
  • Deliver engineering compliance through effective leadership of site services contractors.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of SHE, technical, legal, and insurance compliance requirements.
  • Ensure all equipment meets statutory and Greencore health and safety standards, escalating risks where required.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are followed by all site services teams and contractors.
  • Analyse root causes of estate asset failures and implement actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Build business cases to support investment needs and estate asset decisions.
  • Develop impact and contingency plans for estate asset or service failures.
  • Oversee site grounds, building fabric, utilities plant, furniture, and mechanical and electrical works.
  • Manage contractor performance and permit control systems for site services activities.
  • Build strong working relationships across factory and support functions.

  • Completed engineering apprenticeship with recognised technical qualifications.
  • Strong engineering knowledge with a structured, data-led approach to problem solving.
  • Confident applying SHE principles and statutory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors and control safe systems of work.
  • Strong IT capability, including CMMS and standard office systems.
  • Ability to analyse information logically and translate insight into sound business decisions.
  • Effective planner with the ability to organise people and resources to meet business demands.
  • Strong communicator, able to influence, challenge, and present clearly at all levels.
