The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.
Days - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 6am to 6pm (after 6 weeks rotates to Thursday, Friday, Saturday for a further 6 weeks)
Pay Rate - £15.36 per hour (Over time is after 36 hours a week at time and a quarter)

Here at Selby, we employ a team of over 750 colleagues. A site steeped in history; we are the UK’s number one manufacturer of customer private label cooking sauces and pickles. We have been serving our customers out of our Selby site since 1914. We produce more than 160 million units per year across 600 different product lines for customers such as Morrisons, Tesco & Asda.
What you’ll be doing:
- Your overall role will be to verify that all raw materials (Chilled, Frozen, Ambient, Packaging etc.) are delivered within specification, are compliant with food safety, and legal guidelines.
- You will liaise with Group Raw Materials Team to share supplier feedback and assist on various projects.
- Sample, test and monitor to verify that all Raw Materials are being supplied in a safe and compliant manner.
- Assist in traceability requests.
- Complete routine micro sampling - collect all relevant samples, with adherence to procedures and protocols, to ensure quality, safety and legality of products sampled.
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly material checks based on Raw Material Risk Assessment.
- Liaise with suppliers and undertake product rejections and raise Non-Conformances as required.
- Review OOD ingredients and liaise with suppliers to request product life extensions to reduce waste where possible.
- Collate and review CofA information.
- Complete all necessary documentation ensuring that it is kept up to date, accurate and ready for internal and external audits.
- Provide cover for holidays and sickness within the team.
- Ability to communicate between all departments.
What we’re looking for:
- Food hygiene – Level 2
- Ideally HACCP Level 2 trained
- Allergen Awareness Training
- Previous raw material experience
- Experience of food manufacturing
- Microbiological awareness – understanding of basics of food safety
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications
