What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the smooth operation of the laboratory by performing essential testing activities.
  • Contribute to high standards within the Quality System.
  • Work alongside experienced technicians to deliver accurate and reliable laboratory results.
  • Carry out laboratory procedures in line with the Quality System and required standards.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date personal training record.
  • Communicate clearly where guidance or support is needed to maintain laboratory integrity.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a positive, respectful laboratory team.
  • Uphold high standards of professional communication at all times.
  • Operate safely, maintaining awareness of personal and team safety.
  • Apply attention to detail to ensure accurate and reliable test execution.
  • Develop understanding of laboratory methods and build scientific capability.
  • Support general laboratory activities as required to maintain workflow efficiency.

What we’re looking for:

  • GCSEs in Maths, English and Science (or equivalent).
  • Ideally a food science‑related qualification.
  • Strong interest in science, food safety and laboratory work.
  • Clear, confident communicator who works well in a team.
  • Organised, flexible and able to manage tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable using basic computer systems.
  • Curious, proactive and eager to learn new skills and techniques.
