We produce high-quality Italian ready meals for Tesco & Co-Op.
We are recruiting for a Senior Operator, also called a Line Technician, in the Packing department on a permanent contract. As a Senior Operator, you will take ownership of machinery, area, and equipment, ensuring the consistent application of processes within your line to meet product standards and production plans.
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 06:00 am – 17:10 pm
Pay Rate: £14.48 per hour
Senior Operator responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deliver line/area productivity and efficiency targets, resolving problems as they arise, and producing ingredients or goods according to the production plan.
- Continuously monitor raw materials, operational processes, and the overall production environment to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Monitor machinery effectiveness through Optimum Equipment Efficiency (OEE), highlighting trends and issues to ensure reliable asset performance.
- Promote a health, safety, and environmental culture within the department, adhering to procedures, completing near-miss reports, and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Perform first-line maintenance and basic Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
- Strip down and rebuild manufacturing equipment as needed.
- Provide training to operational staff.
- Assist engineers with breakdowns.
- Conduct basic fault finding and prevent breakdowns.
What we’re looking for:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
- Mechanical literacy.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.

- Comfortable working in a chilled environment.
- Reliable.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills (assessed at interview).
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
