What you’ll be doing

  • Acting as a trusted partner to site leadership, aligning people plans to strategic priorities.
  • Leading the people agenda across engagement, ethics, compliance, and culture.
  • Building capability in employee relations, guiding line managers and handling complex cases.
  • Engaging confidently with trade unions on negotiations and consultation activity.
  • Supporting first-line manager development and succession planning.
  • Playing a key role in improving absence and retention metrics through targeted people plans.
  • Managing labour planning, headcount, and associated budgets effectively.
  • Leading and developing a dedicated HR team, ensuring they are focused and high-performing.
  • Working Monday to Friday on-site, with flexibility to support night shifts when required.

  • CIPD qualified (MCIPD/FCIPD), with proven HR leadership experience.
  • Strong track record in unionised environments, with exceptional employee relations knowledge.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or fast-paced, operational setting is ideal.
  • Skilled in budget management, workforce planning, and organisational development.
  • Resilient, confident, and highly capable of building credibility across all levels.
  • Naturally hands-on and driven to improve capability, performance and culture.
