To: Responsible Individual / Operations Manager Purpose of the Role To lead and manage the day-to-day operation of a Children's Home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care that safeguards and promotes the welfare, development, and positive outcomes of children and young people.
The Registered Manager is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, staff leadership, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Ensure the home operates in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and Ofsted standards.
Provide strong leadership, supervision, and development for the staff team.
Safeguard children and young people, ensuring their needs are met through effective care planning.
Promote positive outcomes relating to education, health, emotional wellbeing, and independence.
Manage staffing, recruitment, rotas, training, and performance management.
Maintain accurate records, policies, and procedures.
Manage budgets and resources effectively.
Build positive relationships with local authorities, external agencies, families, and stakeholders.
Lead inspections and implement continuous improvement plans.
Essential Requirements Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
Experience managing or supervising within a children's residential care setting.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence (preferred by many providers).
