Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to serve as Leasing Consultant for a rapidly growing property management organization. The role involves leasing, marketing, and maintaining resident satisfaction, and offers a career opportunity within a team of committed professionals.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Rent apartment units to prospective residents.
  • Answer phone and email inquiries from prospective residents and encourage visits to the community.
  • Meet with prospective residents to identify suitable apartments using innovative sales techniques to close lease sales.
  • Develop and implement effective marketing plans to achieve community goals and conduct outreach marketing activities to maintain appropriate traffic levels.
  • Show apartments and the overall community to prospective residents, highlighting amenities.
  • Obtain all necessary information to begin the application process, entering data into the computer system.
  • Contact prospects regarding approval or disapproval decisions, assist them with the lease application, and secure initial rent and deposit payments.
  • Schedule move‑in dates and coordinate any required maintenance before move‑in.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate resident files, ensuring information is current.
  • Contact residents with expiring leases to discuss renewals and encourage lease renewal agreements.
  • Handle resident calls for service or other needs, forwarding requests to appropriate staff and writing work orders when necessary.
  • Promote good resident relations through prompt and courteous responses.
  • Answer outside phone calls and greet visitors.
  • Prepare reports or compile other data as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that are in the company’s best interests.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in restaurant, retail sales, or multifamily leasing required; prior multifamily leasing experience preferred.
  • Experience with Entrata software preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic personal computer skills and the ability to learn specialized software.
  • Ability to convince prospective residents of the advantages of living at the community through sales closing methods.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and some holidays as required.
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with industry legal requirements, especially related to federal and local Fair Housing Laws.
  • Willingness to travel off‑site for training courses and outside marketing activities.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background investigation, credit check, and drug screening.
