Have you hit a point where you know you're capable of more than your current role is letting you do? Maybe you're the one everyone turns to when things get complex, the one who can see the bigger picture, but you're still waiting for permission to really lead? Or maybe you've already been given that autonomy, you've proven yourself, and now you're ready for the next step - one where your decisions and leadership have even more impact? If this resonates, here's an opportunity that might be for you.

As Principal or Associate Landscape Architect, you won't just be leading delivery - you'll be actually shaping how the Sheffield landscape architecture function grows and operates. We're talking real ownership: winning new business, expanding the client base, mentoring and guiding juniors, being primary contact for major clients, and leading with authority on design decisions and complex planning. This is for someone who wants to influence how things get done - not just participate.

The work itself spans everything from residential developments to commercial spaces, infrastructure, energy, renewables, utilities and public realm projects. No two days are the same, and you'll need to bring your A-game across landscape planning, design, commercial and team leading - we're looking for a true all-rounder.

You've probably worked in places where good people keep leaving. This company has just been voted one of The Times' Best Places to Work 2026 for a reason! They've built an excellent culture with great staff retention - so you can focus on doing great work instead of constantly training replacements. And joining a mid-sized (5+ offices), independent multidisciplinary practice, you'll actually get to collaborate across disciplines while influencing projects and direction - instead of getting lost in bureaucracy.

The practical stuff:

  • Salary: ยฃ50k-ยฃ70k
  • Flexibility: Hybrid (up to 2 days WFH) with part-time / flexible hours considered
  • Time off: 24 days' annual leave (plus bank hols), with the option to buy more and increasing entitlement the longer you stay
  • Support: Healthcare scheme, life insurance, and access to a wider benefits platform

What you'll need:

  • Min. 6+ years post-qualifying UK consultancy experience
  • Track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects
  • Chartership with the LI
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and/or Vectorworks (Revit / Civil 3D desirable)
  • Commercial acumen and business development experience
