This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop into a full Project Manager over time. Working closely with a small, experienced team of Project Managers, you will gain hands-on exposure to live projects and receive structured support and training—learning the role properly rather than being thrown in at the deep end.
The role supports the delivery of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) across multiple projects and is well suited to someone from a construction, groundwork, highways, or civil engineering background.
Responsibilities- Support the delivery of Sustainable Drainage Systems across multiple projects
- Assist with project planning, coordination, and day-to-day project activities
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure effective communication
- Support site teams to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
- Assist with progress tracking, reporting, and documentation
- Help identify and resolve project issues under the guidance of senior Project Managers
- Some experience within highways, drainage, or civil engineering
- Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager or in a similar support role
- Background in construction or groundworks is highly desirable
- Highways qualification or relevant industry experience would be advantageous
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ambitious, proactive, and keen to progress into a Project Manager role
- Able to commute to Liverpool, Manchester, and surrounding areas when required
- Site management qualification (e.g. CSCS, SSSTS, or equivalent)
- Good knowledge of general construction works and trades
- Strong leadership potential and a professional attitude
- Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Full training and ongoing support provided
- Clear progression path into a Project Manager role
- Opportunity to work closely with experienced Project Managers on live projects
