Role Overview
We are recruiting File Handlers to join our established Noise Induced Hearing Loss Department. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload, liaise directly with clients and insurers, and provide regular updates to management. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background or keen interest in law to progress within a well-structured and supportive department.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a personal caseload of Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) files from initial instruction through to settlement.
- Liaise with clients, insurers, and other parties in a professional and timely manner.
- Prepare letters of claim and instruct medical experts as required.
- Review medical records and complete all pre-issue tasks efficiently.
- Ensure files are progressed in line with firm procedures and service standards.
- Maintain accurate records and high levels of client care.
- Report on case progress to management as required.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience or strong interest in Law and File Handling.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage workload effectively.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Proclaim case management system.
- Understanding of standard IT packages.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Candidate Requirements
- Must be able to commute to or relocate to Blackburn prior to starting work.
- Must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
- At least 12 months\’ experience as a File Handler
- Understand how to use Proclaim Systems.
