We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (Grade 4) to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment for children. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs. This role is essential in helping create an inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive and reach their full potential. As a Grade 4 Teaching Assistant at our school in Barnsley, you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and lead our pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day.
- Getting the classroom ready for lessons
- Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team on their development
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop individual education plans for students requiring additional support
- Help manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies that promote positive interactions among students
- Completing records/ pupils’ plans
- Leading small and whole class group work
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in a school or similar setting
- Ideally experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEND needs
- Must have GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 qualification or working towards
Salary for a Grade 4 Teaching Assistant is £20,436 (Starting salary) - £21,782 actual annual salary (FTE £26,403 - £28,142) working 33 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only plus 5 inset days. Benefits include working for our Wellspring Trust. This is a full-time role working Mon-Fri TERM TIME only: 8.50am-3.55pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 8.50am to 4.10pm Wednesday; 8.50am to 3.45pm Friday.
