Greenacre School is one of the UK’s largest special schools, educating over 300 children and young people aged 3 to 19 with severe and complex learning disabilities. In addition to the main site, the school has a number of satellite classes, which are based within local mainstream settings. This model supports Greenacre’s steadfast commitment to social inclusion. As a Grade 2 Teaching Assistant (TA2) at our school in Barnsley, you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and lead our pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day. This includes:
- Getting the classroom ready for lessons
- Supporting children in class with reading, visual learning and messy play
- Helping those who need extra support - 1:1 and group work
- Completing pupils record plans
- Personal care

- GCSE Math's and English or equivalent
- Experience or interest in working with children/ young people with SEN / SEND needs

Salary/ Hours
Starting salary for a Grade 2 Teaching Assistant is £19,192 actual annual salary (FTE £24,796) working 33 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust. This is a full-time role working Mon-Fri TERM TIME only 8.50am-3.45pm (every Wednesday till 4.45pm).
