The Role: We are seeking a Senior Contracts Manager (Major Works) to lead the delivery of a major capital works programme across a housing portfolio. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing refurbishment and improvement projects, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. You will oversee a team of project and contract management professionals, drive contractor performance, and ensure compliance with all regulatory, health and safety, and contractual requirements. Acting as the client representative, you will play a key role in ensuring effective procurement, contract administration, and successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, manage and develop a technical Major Works team, ensuring high performance and professional standards.
- Provide guidance, oversight and support to project managers and delivery staff.
- Programme Delivery
- Lead delivery of the capital works programme, including refurbishment and improvement projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
- Manage both planned and ad-hoc major works and support emergency project responses where required.
- Contract & Commercial Management
- Act as client representative, ensuring effective contract administration and procurement processes.
- Manage contractor performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
