Interim Contract (6–9 Months) £400 per day The Role: We are seeking an Interim Head of Health & Safety and Compliance to provide strategic leadership and expert guidance across health & safety, compliance, and regulatory matters within a complex housing and property environment. This is a senior role responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, leading on health & safety strategy, managing organisational risk, and promoting a strong safety culture across the business. Reporting directly into senior leadership, you will act as the lead advisor on all health & safety and compliance matters while driving continuous improvement and best practice. Key Responsibilities: * Lead the organisation's health & safety and compliance function, ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. * Develop and implement health & safety strategies, policies and procedures. * Act as the organisation's lead advisor on all health & safety and compliance matters. * Prepare and present compliance and health & safety reports to senior leadership and governance boards. * Monitor legislative developments, including building safety and fire safety requirements, ensuring policies remain up to date. * Oversee risk assessments, fire risk assessments, compliance monitoring, and audit programmes. * Lead business continuity and emergency response planning activities. * Ensure mandatory compliance training programmes are delivered and maintained across the organisation. * Manage compliance systems, reporting tools, policies and procedures to support effective performance monitoring. * Work collaboratively with operational, property and leadership teams to embed a positive safety culture. What We're Looking For: * Significant experience leading Health & Safety and Compliance functions at management or head-of-service level. * Strong knowledge of housing compliance, regulatory requirements, and risk management. * Comprehensive understanding of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety legislation, and wider health & safety regulations. * Experience developing and implementing organisational health & safety strategies. * Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at executive and board level. * Excellent analytical, reporting and presentation skills. * Experience managing audits, compliance frameworks and contractor relationships. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Qualifications Required: * NEBOSH and/or IOSH qualification. * Extensive knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements. * Knowledge of housing regulations, Building Safety legislation and fire safety requirements. * Relevant professional qualifications in Health & Safety, Compliance or Risk Management desirable
