Clerk of Works Permanent Role 45k – 47 The Role: We are seeking a Clerk of Works to support the delivery of planned investment and capital works programmes across a residential property portfolio. Working as part of a dedicated Asset Management and Investment team, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered to the required quality standards, specifications, and safety requirements. This role will involve carrying out quality assurance inspections, monitoring workmanship and materials, overseeing contractor performance, and ensuring projects are completed to a high standard before handover. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out regular site inspections to ensure works comply with specifications, drawings and quality standards. * Monitor workmanship, materials and construction activities, identifying and reporting defects where necessary. * Review contractor risk assessments and method statements, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements. * Produce detailed site inspection reports, records and photographic evidence. * Support contractor performance monitoring and provide feedback on quality and delivery standards. * Undertake snagging inspections, post-inspections and sign-off completed works before handover. * Attend project and site meetings, contributing technical expertise and practical advice throughout project delivery. * Support the delivery of long-term capital investment programmes and promote good practice in construction quality and sustainability. About You: You will have significant experience working in a Clerk of Works, Site Inspector, Quality Inspector or similar construction-focused role, with a strong understanding of building construction, quality control and contractor management. You will be able to identify defects, assess workmanship, produce accurate inspection reports and confidently challenge poor-quality work where required. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to quality assurance are essential. Qualifications Required: * NVQ Level 3, HNC, Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in a construction-related discipline. * Formal Health & Safety qualification. * Relevant Site Inspector qualification desirable. * CSCS Card and professional membership such as ICWCI, MCIOB or equivalent desirable
