Head of Asset & Compliance

Are you an experienced property professional with a proven track record of leading asset management, compliance and maintenance services within housing or a related sector?

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Asset & Compliance to provide strategic leadership across asset management, planned investment, building compliance, responsive repairs and estate services.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will play a key role in shaping long-term asset strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance and delivering high-quality, customer-focused services.

The Role

This is a senior leadership position with overall responsibility for the management, performance and development of asset and compliance services.

You will lead a high-performing team, oversee significant revenue and capital budgets, and provide assurance to the Executive Team and Board that all statutory and regulatory obligations are being met.

Key responsibilities include

  • Leading the organisation's asset management, compliance, maintenance and investment functions.
  • Developing and delivering planned, cyclical and major works programmes.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all property-related statutory, regulatory and health and safety requirements.
  • Leading procurement activities, contract management and supplier performance.
  • Managing substantial budgets and driving value for money across all services.
  • Overseeing stock condition intelligence, asset performance data and investment planning.
  • Identifying and managing strategic risks relating to property assets and compliance.
  • Providing high-quality reporting and professional assurance to senior stakeholders and Board members.
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and customer excellence.
  • About You

To succeed in this role, you will be a strategic and commercially aware leader with significant experience gained within housing, property services, construction or a related environment.

You will bring

  • A successful track record of leading asset management, compliance or property services functions.
  • Strong knowledge of building safety, statutory compliance and health and safety requirements.
  • Experience of managing large budgets, contracts and procurement activities.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • The ability to interpret complex operational and financial data to support informed decision making.
  • Experience of leading organisational change and service improvement programmes.
  • The confidence and credibility to engage effectively with senior leaders, Board members and external partners.

Professional qualifications in property, surveying, construction, compliance, health and safety, housing or leadership disciplines are desirable.
