The Role: As the Asset Surveyor – Repairs & Maintenance, you will cover a defined housing patch, monitoring and quality‑assuring repairs and maintenance works delivered by contractors. You will play a key role in improving service delivery by reviewing performance data, conducting post‑inspections and investigating complaints. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, you will ensure works meet required standards, provide excellent customer outcomes, and comply with statutory obligations and best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and quality‑assure repairs and maintenance works delivered across a housing portfolio.
- Carry out post‑inspections of completed works, including targeted and random checks.
- Investigate customer complaints relating to repairs and produce detailed reports.
- Analyse customer satisfaction data to identify trends, risks and service improvements.
- Identify instances of poor workmanship and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Provide guidance to contractors on standards, specifications and policy requirements.
- Ensure specialist works are properly procured, managed and delivered to a high standard.
- Liaise with internal teams including housing, estates and surveying colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and regulatory standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in repairs and maintenance within social housing or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of construction, contracts and health & safety legislation.
- Ability to analyse performance data and drive service improvements.
- Experience investigating complaints and producing clear, detailed reports.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proactive and solution‑focused approach with strong attention to detail.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Relevant professional qualification (degree/HND) or equivalent experience.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
- Ability to travel between sites as required.
