The Role: You’ll be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Housing Options service, ensuring the council meets its statutory homelessness duties while delivering excellent outcomes for residents.

  • Leading and managing a team of Housing Options staff, driving performance and service quality
  • Overseeing homelessness prevention, relief, and main duty decision-making
  • Managing the housing register, temporary accommodation, and deposit scheme
  • Handling complex and sensitive casework, including reviews and appeals
  • Developing partnerships with external agencies to improve service delivery
  • Monitoring budgets, performance data, and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice
  • Deputising for the Housing Needs Manager where required
