This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated housing team as a Compliance Officer, ensuring residents live comfortably and safely while supporting frontline Housing Officers.

Why This Role Matters

As a key member of the housing team, you will play a vital role in maintaining safe accommodation across multiple shared houses. Your work will directly support tenants’ wellbeing and ensure compliance with essential safety regulations.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

* Maintain up-to-date central health and safety records, including fire safety and compliance certifications.

* Carry out monthly fire alarm tests and visual inspections of fire safety equipment across 21 shared homes.

* Support Housing Officers to action findings from fire risk assessments, liaising with contractors and attending properties as needed.

* Conduct annual health and safety inspections using standardised tools and reporting processes.

* Help tenants understand and follow health and safety procedures, supporting enforcement where necessary.

* Report breaches and assist with preparing warning letters or follow-up documentation.

* Build positive relationships with tenants and intervene early to prevent issues escalating.

* Carry out pre- and post-inspections relating to reported health and safety matters.

* Provide compliance information to support building risk assessments.

* Work collaboratively within the team, contributing to meetings, reflective practice, and shared objectives.

What We’re Looking For

Essential experience & capabilities:

* At least two years’ experience within housing, supported housing, or a health & safety environment.

* Familiarity with health & safety procedures in shared or supported housing settings.

* Strong record-keeping skills, including use of spreadsheets and databases.

* Experience conducting and recording accommodation inspections.

* Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach when working with tenants and contractors.

* Ability to carry out basic fire equipment checks.

* Competent in contributing to risk assessments and following through on actions.

* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to fixed deadlines. xiskglj
