The Role
We are seeking an Asset Surveyor to support the delivery of long-term asset investment programmes across a residential housing portfolio.
You will use stock condition data, property inspections and asset intelligence to help shape investment decisions, improve housing quality and deliver safe, sustainable homes.
Working closely with contractors, consultants and internal teams, you will undertake surveys, investigate building defects, support capital programmes and contribute to the ongoing improvement of asset performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake stock condition surveys and property inspections across the housing portfolio.
- Investigate building defects, damp and mould, disrepair cases and HHSRS hazards, identifying long-term solutions.
- Support the development of planned maintenance, cyclical works and capital investment programmes.
- Produce technical reports, specifications and investment recommendations.
- Monitor contractor performance and undertake quality assurance inspections.
- Support sustainability, energy efficiency and Net Zero initiatives across the housing stock.
- Work with residents, colleagues and contractors to deliver a responsive, customer-focused service.
- What We're Looking For
- Experience in building surveying, asset management, property maintenance or construction.
- Strong knowledge of building defects, housing condition surveys and property compliance.
- Experience using property data to support investment and maintenance decisions.
- Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and build effective relationships with stakeholders.
Qualifications Required
- HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Asset Management, Property Management or a related discipline.
- Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, CIH or similar) desirable.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
