We are actively looking to engage customs compliance professionals with a passion for shipping and European / RoW freight forwarding for a new role as a Freight Operations Specialist (4on4off) in Redditch, Worcestershire. This role is for a 4on4off shift pattern on a hybrid work basis. My client is a SME freight forwarding business, with huge ambitions for growth, in the freight & shipping industry. You will be joining a fast-paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on providing freight forwarding & customs clearance for air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive.

As a Freight Operations Specialist (4on4off) you will report to the Freight Operations Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas across the Redditch office in Worcestershire:

  • Managing the pricing, quoting, booking and file monitoring of freight across import & export across air, sea & road freight.
  • Manage air, sea & ocean freight import and export bookings including pricing, quotations, end-to-end shipping and customs documentation.
  • Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients with a knowledge of the clients' business requirements.
  • Informing customers about the freight prices, port charges, cost of special documents, insurance prices as well as prices for handling the goods.
  • Nominating carriers, airlines and GSA in-line with rates, OTIF value and customer requirements in line with a variety of INCOTerms.

The successful candidate will have an expansive background in customs compliance within the freight forwarding industry. The ideal Freight Operations Specialist (4on4off) will have the following skills and experience:

  • 2+ years' experience in freight forwarding, transport planning.
  • Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across air, sea or road freight forwarding.
  • Desirable experience of customs compliance (not essential).
  • Ability to work a 4on4off shift pattern on a hybrid basis.
