We are actively looking to engage ocean & sea freight professionals with a passion for freight forwarding and aviation shipping for a new role as a Ocean Freight Forwarder working on a hybrid basis in Manchester! Client Details My client is a market-leader in the shipping industry and has offices based across the world (in Iberia, Central Europe, North & South America, the Fast East & more recently in Africa). You will be joining a fast-paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world\’s largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on providing cost-effective and best in class services for worldwide ocean and sea freight! The business has large-scale private investment and has recently grown passed the mark of 4,000 colleagues worldwide. With large scale investment they are actively looking to grow their freight forwarding offerings across the Deutschland by adding additional opportunities within their Manchester office. Job Description As an Ocean Freight Forwarder, you will report in to the Freight Branch Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the Manchester office: Manage ocean freight import and export bookings including pricing, quotations, end-to-end shipping and customs documentations. Documents of Operations and transportation (booking, Bills of Laden, pre-advices, loading confirmation). Nominating carriers, hauliers and shipping lines, in-line with rates, OTIF value and customer requirements in line with a variety of INCOTerms. Raise additional customs documentation to ensure the freight can move from country to country (ISF,COO, clearance documentation etc) Customer rate analysis on route guidance, whilst monitoring and secure allocations and operation efficiency Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients with a knowledge of the clients business requirements The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have an expansive background in ocean freight forwarding across both import and export. The ideal Ocean Freight Forwarder will have the following skills and experience: 2 year\’s experience in freight forwarding in either sea or ocean freight forwarding. Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across ocean & sea freight. Desirable experience of customs compliance. Excellent customer service experience. Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous. Commutable to Manchester on a hybrid basis.
