My client is a SME freight & logistics business who are experienced within the pharma, life-science distribution sectors. They ship a variety of temperature controlled medical products, across the world, using air, sea and road freight forwarding solutions and are based in the Leicestershire area.
Job Description
As a Shipping Co-ordinator you will report to the International Shipping & Freight Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the Leicestershire office:
- Managing the pricing, quoting, booking and file monitoring of freight across import & export across air, sea & road freight within the medical and pharma sector.
- Manage air, sea & ocean freight import and export bookings including pricing, quotations, end-to-end shipping and customs documentations.
- Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients with a knowledge of the clients business requirements.
- Informing customers about the freight prices, port charges, cost of special documents, insurance prices as well as prices for handling the goods.
- Handling customs entries (EUR1's / ATR1's) and arranging billings for VAT/Duties.
- Documents of Operations and transportation (booking, airway bills and loading confirmation).
- Nominating carriers, airlines and GSA in-line with rates, OTIF value and customer requirements in line with a variety of INCOTerms.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have an expansive background in either air, sea or road freight forwarding industry. The ideal Shipping Co-ordinator will have the following skills and experience:
- 2+ years experience in freight forwarding with the medical and/or pharma sector.
- Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across air, sea or road freight forwarding.
- Desirable experience of customs compliance (not essential).
- Excellent customer service experience.
- Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous.
- Commutable to Leicestershire on a hybrid basis.
